Janhit Samiti was established in 1987 in Patiala, Punjab. Driven by the philosophy that "Service to Mankind Service to God", the organization was founded under the visionary leadership of Late Pandit Om Parkash Kaushish.

Late Pandit Om Parkash Kaushish was the founder of this organisation. He started this organisation with 11 members only including his wife Mrs. Raj Dulari and son Anil Kumar Bharti along with 8 others,who collected only 5 rupees monthly from each member to initate selfless service through Janhit Samiti Registered Patiala. This organisation is registered with the Punjab Government (since 1990) and operated purely as a charitable, non-profit, non-political organization.

Government does not provide any finencial aid to this organisation . Our entire operation is funded by the generous contributions of our members and donors. All donations are exempted from Income Tax under section 80-G.
